Commencement Information

Spring 2020

Commencement Exercises for the Master of Science in Biomedicine degree recipients will take place Saturday, May 16 at 10:00am. The ceremony will be held at the Stubblefield Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith. The Stubblefield Center’s main doors will open at 9:00a.m. for family members and guests. No entry will be allowed prior to 9:00a.m.

Graduate specific information can be found in the student portal.

We ask that guests help us limit distractions at the ceremony by refraining from the use of any balloons, air horns, cow bells, silly string, confetti, or other projectiles.

Live-streaming Services

The commencement ceremony will be livestreamed. Friends and family can tune in by following the link we will post on our Facebook page 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.

We have contracted with Grad Images to take individual photographs of each graduate at commencement. They will take two photos of each graduate: one of them being presented their diploma and one as they exit the stage. Graduates will be contacted by Grad Images about proofs and pricing following the ceremony.


During the commencement ceremony, students will be handed an empty diploma cover. Graduates will be notified via email when their diploma is ready for pickup. If the diploma is not picked up, it will be mailed to the address on file.


Students received special pricing information for local hotels. Check with your student for the link to make a reservation at the ACHE Commencement rate.


Graduates will have indicated necessary accommodations for themselves and their guests in their graduation application. For assistance or additional needs the day of the ceremony, please see an usher.

We are pleased to provide a reserved area for family members and guests in need of special accommodations. Please see an usher on the day of the ceremony for assistance and seating in this area; seating is limited and is on a first-come basis.
