Commencement FAQs

Will COVID-19 change any of the current plans?

We are following all guidance from the Arkansas Department of Health to ensure safety precautions are in place for our graduates and guests. If necessary, we are prepared with alternative plans, but truly hope we get to celebrate this special day together.  

Are students required to participate in the commencement ceremony?

Yes, this is an important day in your career, and we are excited to celebrate with you.  

Where should I park for the Commencement Ceremony?

Free parking will be available at the Stubblefield Center on commencement day. If the front parking lots fill up, there will be additional parking behind the Stubblefield Center that is next to the baseball field.

Are there seating accommodations for guests with disabilities?

There will be plenty of mobility impairment seating. Please tell family members and guests to inquire with an ambassador as they enter the facility, and the ambassador can assist all guests with appropriate seating. 

How is the best way for family and friends to take photos?

While guests are welcome to take pictures from their seats, they will not be permitted on the floor once the ceremony begins. Professional photography services are provided by Grad Images, and the graduate will receive information for ordering.  

Will students that are in the Military be recognized during the commencement ceremony?

Yes, if a student will receive a promotion in rank as a result of their graduation, they will be invited to participate in a promotion ceremony. Please ensure to self-identify when submitting the required graduation application. 

How many tickets will I have for my family and friends to attend the commencement ceremony?

Tickets are not required for the commencement ceremony. There is ample seating for as many guests as you wish to invite. However, there is a limited number allowed at the Family Fish Fry (please see above). 

I have a special needs request, who should I contact?

Students with special needs who will require accommodations during the ceremony should contact, so that necessary arrangements can be made.
