Born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, A. Nasser Adjei, MD, had the opportunity to pursue a medical education at Haccettepe University Medical School in  Ankara, Turkey, on a scholarship and soon after graduation immigrated to the USA. He did his Internal Medicine  Internship and Residency at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University- Harlem Hospital Center in New York. He continued his Fellowship in  Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and  Nuclear medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society Of Coronary Angiography and Interventions.

  • In 2002, Dr. Adjei visited Arkansas and decided to make this community his home with his wife and children.
  • Dr. Adjei has been the Chairman of Cardiology Department since 2009 and has maintained a busy Cardiology practice in the city of Fort Smith.
  • In 2001, he received a US Congressional Honor Record for Community Service in New York. He has maintained his community service activities in Ghana with mission trips and charity work.
  • In 2015, he was awarded the Community Leadership Award for Healthcare from Leadership Fort Smith and the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce.
  • In 2019, Dr. Adjei received the Physician of the Year Award from the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce.
