Plan & Response

Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE) is continuing business operations for administration, faculty, staff and students. ACHE is closely monitoring the continuing coronavirus outbreak and reviewing guidance from the U.S. Department of State, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Arkansas State Department of Health. ACHE is actively managing our readiness and response to the coronavirus epidemic. Health and safety continue to be the top priorities in our decisions and support.

This webpage provides and catalogs important updates and information for our ACHE community, but is not intended to serve as a single point of reference about the rapidly evolving situation.

ACHE requires all students and employees to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.  

ACHE COVID Forms

Students, faculty, and staff experiencing illness or who have tested positive for COVID-19 should complete the appropriate illness reporting form.

Students who have been exposed to one who has tested positive for COVID-19 should contact studentservices@acheedu.org for guidance. Employees who have been exposed to one who has tested positive for COVID-19 should contact Human Resources and their direct supervisor for guidance.

Restrictions

Screening

  • All guests and visitors to ACHE academic buildings will be screened upon entry. Anyone entering an ACHE campus building with a verified temperature above 101 degrees Fahrenheit will not be allowed access.

Facial Coverings & Masks

  • All students, faculty, staff, who are unvaccinated or in the process of meeting the fully vaccinated status against COVID-19, as defined by CDC, will be required to wear facial coverings, except when alone in a private room or private vehicle. Residents of on-campus housing are not required to wear a face covering around their roommates or partners while in their own units, but face coverings should be worn in common areas of campus housing buildings. Face coverings must cover both mouth and nose.
  • Visitors to ACHE academic buildings may be required to wear facial coverings. Face coverings must cover both mouth and nose.

Social Distancing

  • All students, faculty, staff, and visitors to ACHE academic buildings are encouraged to practice social distancing of at least six feet.

Travel

  • Student travel will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Office of Student Affairs.
  • Employees should consult with their direct supervisor regarding necessary work-related travel.

Isolation & Quarantine

ACHE will follow CDC guidelines regarding isolation and quarantine. 

Any student, faculty, staff who tests positive for COVID-19 may be required to quarantine. Medical release information will be required for return to work or school.

Any student, faculty, staff who has come in direct contact with one who has tested positive for COVID-19 may be asked to self-isolate before returning to work or school. Medical release information may be required for return to work or school.

Those individuals who are two weeks out from full COVID-19 vaccination will not be required to quarantine.

Events & Large Groups

  • All event requests and large group activities will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 
  •  Online and virtual events are encouraged. 

Excused Absences for Illness: Students

  • Students who do not feel well should not come to campus. Students should contact studentservices@acheedu.org for the excused absence process.

Absences for Illness: Employees

  • Employees who do not feel well should stay home and report the illness: Faculty & Staff: Report an Illness
  • Employees should follow the normal procedure for requesting and recording sick time.
