Director of Financial Aid

The Director of Financial Aid will be responsible for the development, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of the Office of Financial Aid. Duties will include the disbursement of federal financial aid; supervising and managing the Office of Financial Aid; ensuring superior customer service to students, faculty, and staff, as well as managing third-party vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 – 5 years progressive financial aid management experience
  • Experience with administration of Title IV Federal Student Aid programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Five (5) or more years progressive financial aid management experience
  • Previous experience administering student financial aid at a medical school or health professions institution offering a terminal degree, including experience in working with private lending institutions
  • Knowledge of veterans benefits

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Ability to work without close supervision and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of professional and graduate level financial aid processes
  • Familiarity with student financial aid administration systems
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • Utilize query and database tools to develop and produce accurate information necessary to administer aid programs and provide data analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Access, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to attend conferences and professional development in order to keep current regarding developments in financial aid policies, procedures, and compliance regulations
