Dr. Bridges is the founding Chair of the Biochemistry, Molecular & Cell Sciences Department. He and his wife, Jamie, are both Arkansas natives. Dr. Bridges most recently comes from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University where he was also a member of the East Carolina Diabetes and Obesity Institute. Dr. Bridges research interests entail a novel regulatory mechanism for the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease) family of enzymes and delineating the mechanism of action of retinoids, natural and synthetic vitamin A derivatives, in the treatment of lymphoma. He has an active NIH grant that aims to better understand how ADAM proteases are regulated.
