Dr. Joe Queeney was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Due to his father’s career in the military he has lived in numerous places before his family settled in Alva, Oklahoma. He graduated from Northwest Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in both Chemistry and Biology. He attended medical school at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Queeney completed a rotating internship at Enid Regional Hospital and a five year residency in Neurological Surgery at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. During residency he spent time at Ohio State University for Neurology, the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology at Walter Reed Medical Center for Neuropathology and Allegheny General in Pittsburgh for neurovascular, trauma, neuro oncology, complex spine, and skull base surgery.

After offering a full gamut of services in his Fort Smith practice for several decades, he has made his focus on office base Neurosurgery, peripheral nerve surgery, and teaching. Dr. Queeney’s hobbies include: cooking, barbecue, rock music, and photography.
