Joanne Peterson is an Assistant Professor of Anatomy and works closely with the first year DO students to develop their knowledge in Anatomical Sciences. She knows that this is fundamental information to becoming a competent physician and sets the foundation for understanding the body as a functioning unit. To help facilitate learning, her research is focused on looking at various approaches to boost academic achievement in both the Anatomical Sciences and throughout the entire medical school curriculum. She is also on the national faculty for NBOME. She holds a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
